Juvenile magma detected in latest Tongariro eruption

The GeoNet reported on Facebook that ejecta from the November 21 eruption has been analysed and that 1% of the ejected material was fresh magma.

The GeoNet currently keeps the Alert Level at 1 "signs of volcano unrest"

Future eruptions could occur with little or no warning.
