Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 45000 ft (13700 m) altitude or flight level 450 .

Unrest has once again escalated and a new phase of major eruptive activity occurred between around 10:00 and 11:00 UTC today, sending a mushroom cloud to 19km, as in the VEI 4 eruption in June. This event appears to have been smaller and has now ended- satellite imagery shows the ash cloud drifting away from the volcano.
