Veniaminof volcano (Alaska): Volcanic Alert Level increased to Yellow

The Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) recorded periods of seismic tremor at the volcano over the past days associated with occasional earthquakes. Tremor has not shown significant variations.
This type of seismic activity typically precedes eruptive activity at the volcano but does not mean that an eruption will occur.
The Aviation Color Code and the Volcanic Alert Level are being increased to YELLOW/ADVISORY.
