Current seismic recording from Veniaminof (VNHG station, AVO)
Seismic tremor continued to slowly but steadily increase yesterday, then dropped temporarily and has been increasing again today. AVO reports an intermittent, low-level steam plume issuing from the central cone within the caldera. No elevated surface temperature were visible in satellite images. No other activity was confirmed by AVO.

A pilot reported a minor eruption at Veniaminof volcano producing an ash plume of about 10,000 ft on Thursday April 6, 2006.

Seismicity at Veniaminof volcano is low and there are no indications that new eruptions have taken place since 3 March 2006. As precaution, the Alaska Volcano Observatory maintains alert level YELLOW.
