-- new activity ---
Cleveland (Aleutians): continued slow growth of summit lava dome
Kanaga (Aleutians): no further eruptions, volcanic tremor detected on 25 Feb
Rincón de la Vieja (Costa Rica): eruptions from the active crater on 19, 20 and 23 February
Tungurahua (Ecuador): moderate activity during 22-28 February. Steam plumes with some ash rising to 1-2 km above crater, ash fall in southwesterly directions in up to 23 km distance, strombolian activity up to 500 m height on 24 Feb. Crater incandescence observed on 23 and 27 February.
--- ongoing activity ----
Bezymianny (Kamchatka): increased seismic activity, thermal anomaly, large steam and gas plume observed on 20 Feb
El Hierro (Canaries): weak and intermittent discoloration observed on the sea surface over the emission area. Only once were emitted lava fragments observed during the reported period 22-28 Feb.
107 seismic events recorded, most of them in the central part of the island, with a few extending offshore to the S. Depths of the hypocenters varied between 8 and 20 km and magnitudes between 0.1 and 2.6 (46 events with magnitude 1 or greater). 3 events were felt by residents with a maximum intensity value of III (EMS-98).
Karmysky (Kamchatka): moderate levels, occasional small ash plumes
Kilauea (Hawai\'i): lava flows on and above pali, lava lake in Halema\'uma\'u
Kizimen (Kamchatka): large lava flow on the E flank and accompanying hot avalanches
Reventador (Ecuador): continued small lava flow on NE flank, visible as thermal anomaly. Washington VAAC reported an ash plume that drifted 19 km SE on 16 February. IG observed an ash plume that rose 100 m above the crater on 18 February.
Popocatépetl (Mexico): steam-and-gas emissions, crater incandescence, small ash eruptions on 22-24 Feb reaching 500-900 m height
Puyehue-Cordón Caulle (Chile): ash and steam emissions reaching 1 km height above crater, lava flow reached the valley of the Nilahue River, and 2 lava flows advanced to the N margin of the W crater.
Sakura-jima (Japan): occasional explosions, ash plumes rising 1.5-1.8 km
Santa Maria / Santigaguito (Guatemala): ash explosions rising 600-1300 m and drifting in westerly directions, constant avalanches from an active blocky lava flow on the S flank. Ash fall in nearby communities
Shiveluch: low seismic activity, viscous small lava flow in the 2010 crater.
