The new Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report summarized:
-- new activity ---
Bezymianny (Kamchatka): increasing seismic activity, thermal anomaly
Cleveland (Aleutians): no apparent increase in size of lava dome, weak thermal anomaly
Etna (Italy): summary of the 8 Feb paroxysm
Kanaga (Aleutians): alert status lowered as seismic activity down to background levels
Tungurahua (Ecuador): increased seismicity since 3 March, ash plumes observed rising 3 km above the crater and drifting S and SW. Explosions ejected blocks that rolled down the flanks, 2 of them generating loud sounds resembling cannon shots and vibrated windows. Ashfall in Choglontus (13 km WSW), Manzano (8 km SW), Cahuají (8 km SW), and Motilones (W). On 4 March ashfall reported in Yuibug, observation of hot deposits from a small pyroclastic flow high in in the Achupashal drainage gulley (NW). Ash plumes 1 km high observed on 5 March, with ash fall in Choglontus.
--- ongoing activity ----
Bagana (Papua New Guinea): Ash plume rising to 2.4 km (8,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifting 37 km SW on 7 March. (VAAC Darwin)
Fuego (Guatemala): moderate explosions reaching 600 m above crater, blocky lava flow 300 m long on upper SW flank
El Hierro (Canary Islands): almost absent activity, scientists declared eruption ended on 5 March, but "volcanic process that started on mid July 2011 had not finished" (referring to earthquakes)
Karmysky (Kamchatka): moderate levels, possible ash plumes rising to 3.9 km (12,800 ft) altitude a.s.l. during 23-27 February, thermal anomaly
Kilauea (Hawai'i): lava flows on and above pali, lava lake in Halema'uma'u, last inhabited house in Royal Gardens destroyed
Kizimen (Kamchatka): large lava flow on the E flank and accompanying hot avalanches
Popocatépetl (Mexico):steaming, occasional small explosions ejecting incandescent lava to up to 200-300 m above crater
Rincón de la Vieja (Costa Rica): eruptions from the active crater on 19, 20 and 23 February
Puyehue-Cordón Caulle (Chile): eruption continuing at low levels, ash and steam plumes reaching 0.7-3 km height
Sakura-jima (Japan): frequent explosions during 29 February-7 March with plume heights reaching 1.2-3 km (4,000-10,000 ft) a.s.l.
Santa Maria / Santigaguito (Guatemala): ash explosions up to 800-1000 m high, viscous lava flow on S, SW and NE flank of dome
Shiveluch: low to moderate seismic activity, small lava flow, occasional avalanches from lava dome
Suwanosejima (Japan): occasional small ash eruptions
