Villarrica volcano (Central Chile): activity remains stable

The activity of the volcano remains stable at low levels characterized near-constant degassing from the crater. Emissions of water vapor and gases generated a white dense ash column rising several 300 m above the summit as can be seen in the video.
The small lava pond in the summit crater, first observed in Nov last year, has remained essentially unchanged.
Its currently stable condition suggests that there is a delicate equilibrium between heat and magma supply and loss (through cooling and mild emissions during degassing).
