Incandescence from strombolian activity at Villarrica last evening
Incandescence from strombolian activity at Villarrica last evening
Weak intermittent strombolian activity at the summit crater and occasional small ash emissions continue.
In its latest report from yesterday, SERNAGEOMIN mentioned a decrease in tremor and observed emissions.
An exclusion zone of 5 km radius around the crater is in place as the activity can increase abruptly at any time.

After the violent paroxysm during Mon-Tue, the volcano has calmed down again. No explosions could be seen on the webcam, only what might be a short-lived lava flow and/or strombolian activity during the night. [more]
