Incandescence from strombolian activity at Villarrica last evening
Weak intermittent strombolian activity at the summit crater and occasional small ash emissions continue.

An exclusion zone of 5 km radius around the crater is in place as the activity can increase abruptly at any time.

Weak incandescence from mild strombolian activity in the summit crater of the volcano has become visible at night.
Sunday, Mar 22, 2015
The volcano is having phases of increasingly intense, continuous ash emissions, probably caused by deep-seated strombolian activity. No or little incandescence has been visible last night.
