Stromboli (Eolian Islands, Italy): Minutes ago, the volcano produced a spectacular "smoke ring", which was seen rising from the crater area and drifting slowly northeastwards over the village.
Its near-perfect circular shape and large diameter (100-200 m?) are truly impressive, perhaps the largest I have ever seen or heard of.

...27 Mar:
A moderately strong explosive eruption occurred this morning at the volcano. At 10:56 local time (WIB), an explosion produced an ash column that rose approx. 5 km above the summit crater and drifted in SW direction. The aviation color code was raised to RED.
According to the volcano observatory, the eruption lasted 7 minutes and produced pyroclastic flows that traveled 2 km to the south-southeastern sector. Ash fall occurred in up to 20 km distance, especially in the Western sector where it reached the Mungkid sub-district of Magelang Regency. Ash fall was also reported in the Banyubiru Village area, Dukun District, Magelang Regency at about 15 km distance from the peak of Mount Merapi.

Mauna Loa (Big Island, Hawai'i): The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (HVO) recorded around 42 small-magnitude earthquakes beneath the Mauna Loa’s upper elevations. Most of these events occurred at shallow depths of less than 5 km (~3 miles) below ground level. There were no events on Mauna Loa above magnitude 2.0. There is continued slow summit inflation, which HVO say is consistent with magma supply to the volcano's shallow storage system. Gas concentrations and fumarole temperatures remain stable.

Popocatépetl (Central Mexico): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Washington warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 20000 ft (6100 m) altitude or flight level 200 .
The full report is as follows: ONGOING VA EMS to 20000 ft (6100 m)
