Aso (central Kyushu, Japan): The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) recored explosive activity from the active crater with near-constant grey-white plumes that rose 5,000 ft (1,524 m) above the summit crater and drifted north.
The seismic station records low internal tremor. The number of volcano-tectonic earthquakes continues at high levels.

Sakurajima (Kyushu, Japan): On 2 May at 06:00 local time, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported that explosive activity continues from the active crater with near-constant emissions of ash generated by the vigorous explosion. Dense dark ash plume reached approx. 9,000 ft (2,743 m) altitude. Volcanic ash is dispersed towards the north.
Blocks were ejected as far as 1,968-2,952 ft (600-900 m) away from Minamidake summit crater.

Semeru (East Java, Indonesia): PVMBG recorded an explosion that generated emissions of gas and steam plumes with ash content. Ash plumes reached 13,000 ft (3,962 m) altitude and drifted NE.
Lava flows continue to be active on the south-southeast slopes of the volcano.

Popocatépetl (Central Mexico): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Washington warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 19000 ft (5800 m) altitude or flight level 190 .
