Shiveluch (Kamchatka): (17 May) Webcam observations of the volcanological observatory KVERT from 15 May confirmed a new lava dome.
The lava dome had grown from the active lava dome and forming the "dome on top of a dome". The extruded lava dome stands out with a spectacularly and highly unusual, smooth, egg-like shape exactly as the previous lava dome "Dolphin".

Fuego (Guatemala): (17 May) The explosive activity of the volcano continues.
The volcano produces frequent moderate-to-strong eruptions at regular intervals of 10 to 14 per hour. Ash plumes reached 16,000 ft (4,900 m) altitude and dispersed about 15 km towards the W-SW.
