Stromboli (Eolian Islands, Italy): The activity at the volcano has decreased again to average "moderate" levels.
Strombolian explosions continue to occur frequently from multiple vents, but their frequency and size has decreased compared to earlier this month. The same is true for the overall seismic activity of the volcano.

Etna (Sicily, Italy): The activity at the volcano continues with pulsating, often strong ash emissions from the NE and Bocca Nuova craters at intervals of few minutes.
However, seismic activity remains low and there are currently no indications that these ash emissions (even though they are quite spectacular sometimes) are caused by fresh magma rising and might herald possible new activity in the near future.
More likely, they reflect internal adjustments of the conduits and internal reservoirs still drained by the flank eruption on Christmas 2018 (i.e. the ashes could be largely from fragmented older material).

Kuchinoerabu-jima (Ryukyu Islands): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Tokyo warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 16000 ft (4900 m) altitude or flight level 160 and is moving at 25 kts in E direction.
The full report is as follows: POSS VA CONTINUOUSLY OBS IN SATELLITE IMAGERY. to 16000 ft (4900 m)

Sakurajima (Kyushu, Japan): (29 Jan) Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Tokyo warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 4000 ft (1200 m) altitude or flight level 040 and is moving at 10 kts in S direction.
The full report is as follows: VA AT 20190129/0130Z FL040 EXTD S OBS VA DTG:29/0130Z to 4000 ft (1200 m)

Tinakula (Santa Cruz Islands, Solomon Islands): The volcano might have recently entered a new eruptive phase: A small steam plume can be seen rising from the summit crater, as recent photos taken from a passenger aboard an airliner passing over the volcano showed. In addition, weak thermal anomalies have been detected on satellite data.
New activity is likely a small-scale strombolian-type eruption from the summit vents, the most typical activity of the volcano. The volcano, very similar in morphology and activity style to Stromboli in Italy, or Batu Tara in Indonesia, is one of the most active ones in the Pacific and erupts on average every few years.
The last confirmed activity took place in 2012. Due to its remoteness and the lack of population and monitoring, as well as the typical small scale of its activity, not all eruptions of the volcano might get noticed.
