Stromboli (Eolian Islands, Italy): (7 Aug) During the first days of the month (Aug 2019), the explosive activity of the volcano has increased further, LGS reported in its latest update on 4 Aug evening:
The activity level remains very high, both from the vent in the Central-SW crater area and the 3 active cones in the NE crater area. The eruptions have been producing eruptions rich in ash and scoria to heights of typically 200 m, often accompanied by shock waves.
