Sakurajima (Kyushu, Japan): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Tokyo warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 6000 ft (1800 m) altitude or flight level 060 and is moving at 10 kts in W direction.

Ulawun (New Britain, Papua New Guinea): (10 Oct) RVO reported that the fissure eruption on Ulawun’s west-southwest flank had ceased by 4 October, producing only diffuse white-to-gray steam plumes with a blueish tinge from the main coalesced vent.

CENAPRED recorded 258 minutes of volcanic tremor, 177 emissions of gases and light ash content, 3 moderate explosions at 03:24, 07:13 and 08:10.

SERNAGEOMIN and ONEMI reported that during 2-7 October a webcam at Copahue recorded white and gray emissions rising as high as 300 m above the El Agrio Crater rim and drifting towards the east-northeast and south-southeast.
The number and intensity of seismic events detected at Copahue had decreased to low levels.
