Etna (Sicily, Italy): Mild to moderate summit activity continues at the volcano. In particular, the strombolian activity from the intra-crater cone inside the Voragine (Central) summit crater, has resumed during the past days and sometimes produces impressive fireworks of incandescent lava being thrown much higher than the crater rim.
This activity had started on 12 Sep and over the months constructed a new cinder cone growing inside the crater.
At the moment, this activity seems to be stable; there are no significant variations in volcanic tremor suggesting that it might cease or increase soon, although rapid changes at Etna's summit craters are not rare. The situation remains to be followed.

Aso (central Kyushu, Japan): Volcanic Ash Advisory Center Tokyo (VAAC) issued the following report: ACTIVITY CONT. VA AT 20200201/1200Z FL070 EXTD SE OBS VA DTG:01/1150Z

Kuchinoerabu-jima (Ryukyu Islands): Volcanic Ash Advisory Center Tokyo (VAAC) issued the following report: ACTIVITY CONT. VA AT 20200201/1200Z FL030 EXTD SE OBS VA DTG:01/1150Z

Sakurajima (Kyushu, Japan): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Tokyo warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 8000 ft (2400 m) altitude or flight level 080 and is moving at 10 kts in SE direction.
The full report is as follows: VA EMISSIONS CONTINUING OBS VA DTG:01/1120Z to 8000 ft (2400 m)

Dukono (Halmahera): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 7000 ft (2100 m) altitude or flight level 070 and is moving at 15 kts in S direction.
The full report is as follows: CONTINUOUS VA EMISSION TO FL070, LAST OBS EXT S AT 01/0910Z to 7000 ft (2100 m)

Kerinci (Sumatra): Volcanic Ash Advisory Center Darwin (VAAC) issued the following report: VA REPORTED TO FL140 AT 01/1136Z OBS VA DTG:01/1215Z

Mauna Loa (Big Island, Hawai'i): (1 Feb) During the past week, HVO seismometers recorded 107 small magnitude earthquakes beneath the upper elevations of the volcano; the strongest was a magnitude 2.3 earthquake on January 23. Most earthquakes occurred at shallow depths of less than 5 km (~3 miles) beneath the volcano's surface.

Global Positioning System (GPS) measurements show continued slow summit inflation, consistent with magma supply to the volcano's shallow storage system.

Gas concentrations at the Sulphur Cone monitoring site on the Southwest Rift Zone remain stable. Fumarole temperatures as measured at both Sulphur Cone and the summit have not changed significantly.

Popocatépetl (Central Mexico): (1 Feb) Volcanic Ash Advisory Center Washington (VAAC) issued the following report: NEW VA EMS.

Fuego (Guatemala): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Washington warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 14000 ft (4300 m) altitude or flight level 140 .
The full report is as follows: LGT VA CLD OBS IN STLT. to 14000 ft (4300 m)

Rincón de la Vieja (Costa Rica): An moderate explosive eruption occurred at the volcano on 30 Jan 2020 at 12:13 local time, producing a steam and ash plume that rose approx. 2 km above the crater.
The event was likely another phreatic explosion, i.e. entirely driven by steam with no fresh magma involved, similar to the previous one on 2 Jan 23:18 local time this year.

Sangay (Ecuador): (31 Jan) Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Washington warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 19000 ft (5800 m) altitude or flight level 190 .
The full report is as follows: PSBL ONGOING EMS. to 19000 ft (5800 m)

Reventador (Ecuador): (1 Feb) Volcanic Ash Advisory Center Washington (VAAC) issued the following report: VA EMS HAS DISP

Sabancaya (Peru): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Buenos Aires warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 24000 ft (7300 m) altitude or flight level 240 and is moving at 5 kts in W direction.
The full report is as follows: continuous ash emissions to 24000 ft (7300 m)

Reykjanes (Reykjanes peninsula (SW Iceland)): IMO reports: An inflation has been detected since January 21st and is centred just west of Mt. Thorbjorn on Reykjanes peninsula. The inflation is unusually rapid, around 3-4 mm per day and has accumulated to 2 cm to date. It has been detected both on continuous GPS stations and in InSAR images. The inflation is most likely a sign of magma accumulation at a depth of just a few km. If magma accumulation is causing the inflation, the accumulation is very small, with the first volume estimate is around 1 million cubic meters. ... [more]
