The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) recorded at the Minamidake summit crater 21 eruptions and 10 explosions detected by the seismic network and 79 volcanic earthquakes and 114 tremors associated with the eruptions during the period 29 Jan-3 Feb 2020. Blocks were ejected as far as 1 km away from Showa crater.
An ash plume rose 7,217 ft (2,200 m) above the summit crater.

Semeru (East Java, Indonesia): (4 Feb) Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 14000 ft (4300 m) altitude or flight level 140 .

Dukono (Halmahera): Volcanic Ash Advisory Center Darwin (VAAC) issued the following report: CONTINUOUS VA EMISSIONS TO FL070, LAST OBS EXT S AT 04/0200Z

White Island (New Zealand): GeoNet did a visual observation and gas flights last week and confirm no further extrusions of lava has occurred. Gas fluxes are lower than two weeks ago but remain elevated.
No explosive eruptive activity has been detected or observed since the 9 December 2019 eruption.

INSIVUMEH recorded 5-10 strombolian-type explosions per hour that generated a grey ash plume which reached approx. 14,760 ft-15,410 ft (4,500 m-4,700 m) altitude and drifted W and SW.
In addition, they recorded white plume that reached 14,100 ft (4,300 m) altitude and drifted W and SW.
