Reykjanes (Reykjanes peninsula (SW Iceland)): Earthquake activity around Thornbjorn volcano has decreased over the past days, but weak inflation, likely caused by magma accumulation at shallow depth, continues.
Icelandic scientists measured that in some places about 5 cm ground uplift have taken place since the start of the seismic crisis and that the intrusion is likely located at 3-5 km depth in an area just west Thornbjorn. The Icelandic Met Office reported yesterday:

Dukono (Halmahera): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Darwin warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 7000 ft (2100 m) altitude or flight level 070 and is moving at 10 kts in W direction.
