Reykjanes (Reykjanes peninsula (SW Iceland)): (24 Feb) The Icelandic Met Office (IMO) reported that the CO2 emissions reached hazardous levels and low levels of O2 were measured at the cave (popular for hikers) in the Eldvörp area on the Reykjanes Peninsula on 20 February.
On 20 February an earthquake swarm started 10 km N of Gjögurtá. Over 200 earthquakes were detected by the seismic network with magnitude below M 3.0.

The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported that the activity of the volcano continues since the last eruption at Nakadake crater on 7 January.
An ash plume rose 5,577 ft (1,700 m) above the crater rim.

Sakurajima (Kyushu, Japan): (24 Feb) Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Tokyo warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 12000 ft (3700 m) altitude or flight level 120 and is moving at 25 kts in SE direction.

Suwanose-jima (Ryukyu Islands): Volcanic Ash Advisory Center Tokyo (VAAC) issued the following report: VA IS NOT IDENTIFIABLE IN SATELLITE IMAGERY.

Dukono (Halmahera): Volcanic Ash Advisory Center Darwin (VAAC) issued the following report: CONTINUOUS VA TO FL070 EXT SW EST VA DTG:24/1300Z

Ruapehu (North Island): (24 Feb) GeoNet reported that seismographs detected a sequence of seismic events beneath Mt Ruapehu during 22-23 February. GNS Science volcanologists have categorised them as volcanic earthquakes. The larger events at the start of the episode are approximately magnitude 1.5 and later, smaller events are too small to be located by GeoNet’s earthquake detection-location system.
The seismic recordings indicate a source beneath the summit area, which is normal for volcanic earthquakes and volcanic tremor at Ruapehu. The earthquake episode has ended.

Pavlof (Alaska Peninsula, USA): The Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) reported that the seismic unrest continues at the volcano. This event is not associated with eruptive activity.
No activity was detected in satellite data over the past 24 hours. Clear web camera imagery shows no signs of steaming or other activity.

Sabancaya (Peru): Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Buenos Aires warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 26000 ft (7900 m) altitude or flight level 260 .

Huaynaputina (Peru): (24 Feb) IGP reported that the warning system at the volcano detected the decrease of a lahar (volcanic mud flow) of a moderate volume. The lahar which formed traveled down the southern sector of the volcano through the El Volcán creek at the approx. distance of 500 m from the Quinistaquillas town.
The population is recommended to stay away from the channel of this creek.
