The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported that the activity of the volcano continues since the last eruption at Nakadake crater on 7 January.
An ash plume rose 2,296 ft (700 m) above the crater rim and caused ashfall in areas downwind.

Semeru (East Java, Indonesia): (5 Mar) PVMBG reported that during February and 1-2 March an explosions at the volcano generated a grey ash plumes, which rose approx. 656 ft-1,640 ft (200 m-500 m) above the summit crater.
On 26 February incandescent material was ejected to an approximate height of 10 to 50 meters above the Jonggring-Seloko Crater.

Yasur (Tanna Island, Vanuatu): (5 Mar) Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Wellington reported explosive activity from the active crater with near-constant ash emissions that reached 5,000 ft (1,500 m) altitude and drifted into NW direction.

INSIVUMEH recorded 13-17 moderate to strong strombolian-type explosions per hour that generated a grey ash plume which reached approx. 14,107 ft-15,419 ft (4,300 m-4,700 m) altitude. The plumes drifted towards the southwest direction.
Incandescence material is ejected to an approximate height of 300 m-400 m above the crater with moderate to strong avalanches.
