According to news articles, increased volcanic activity at Egon on 31 August led people from at least seven villages near the volcano to temporarily evacuate their homes. Local officials feared that about 2,000 people living on the mountainside were at risk. Reportedly, activity decreased after a few hours and most villagers returned home.
Based on information from JMA, the Tokyo VAAC reported that an eruption beginning at Asama around 2000 on 1 September produced an ash plume to an unknown height. Ash was not visible on satellite imagery. According to news articles, JMA raised the Alert Level from 2 to 3 and advised people not to visit the volcano.
During 25-31 August, volcanic and seismic activity were at low-to-moderate levels at Tungurahua. Emissions of gas, steam, and ash rose to low levels above the volcano and were accompanied by tremor. In addition, several long-period earthquakes occurred during the report period.
Seismic and volcanic activity at Soufrière Hills remained at low levels during 20-27 August. The seismic network recorded one hybrid earthquake and one rockfall. Sulfur-dioxide flux ranged between 175 and 310 metric tons per day.
On 25 August, a thin plume emitted from Semeru was visible on satellite imagery extending WSW. No ash was visible on the satellite imagery.
During 30 August to 1 September, several weak-to-moderate explosions at Santa Maria's Santiaguito lava-dome complex produced ash clouds to a maximum height of ~1 km above the volcano. Avalanches of lava blocks and ash traveled down the S flank of Caliente dome.
According to the Société Volcanologique Européenne website, the eruption that began at Piton de la Founaise on 13 August continued through 31 August. The main lava flow entered the sea, building a large lava bench.
During 25-31 August, surface lava flows were visible at Kilauea on the Pulama pali fault scarp, and all vents in the crater of Pu`u `O`o were incandescent. Seismicity was weak beneath Kilauea's summit. There was no tremor beneath Kilauea, and it was at moderate levels at Pu`u `O`o'.

Due to a decrease in seismic and volcanic activity at Tengger Caldera, DVGHM decreased the Alert Level from 2 to 1 on 16 August. They warned that gas emissions could still be dangerous to visitors and recommended that people do not enter a 1 km radius zone around the volcano.

During 6-13 August, frequent small ash-and-steam emissions from Veniaminof were visible on the web camera in Perryville and confirmed by AVO geologists working in the area. The emissions did not exceed a height of 3 km a.s.l. and were similar to those commonly observed in the past 2 months.

INGEOMINAS reported that volcanic and seismic activity increased at Galeras on 11 August at 2349 when an eruption began that sentan ash-and-gas cloud to an unknown height and generated visible incandescence. According to the Washington VAAC, satellite imagery showed that an ash plume rose to a height of ~10.7 km a.s.l. It spread in all directions, but mainly to the NE, E, and SW.
