AVO reported that seismicity at Shishaldin continued to be elevated over background levels during 26 August-1 September, indicating that low-level eruptive activity confined to the summit crater continued. Cloud cover often prevented satellite and webcam observations; elevated surface temperatures were periodically detected in satellite images. KVERT reported that during 21-28 August lava-dome extrusion onto Sheveluch's N flank was accompanied by fumarolic activity, dome incandescence, and hot avalanches.
