MODIS hot spot at the summit of Hear volcano (Univ. Hawai'i)
A thermal hot spot remains visible at the summit crater on MODIS satellite data, suggesting that some activity continues there.

Glow remains brightly visible at night. The rate of weak steam/gas/ash emissions was about 1 per hour since yesterday.

Etna (Sicily, Italy): Etna has returned to apparent calm, but it is probably only a matter of days before new activity appears, likely at either Bocca Nuova or the New SE crater. Diffuse ash emissions seem to be occurring from the latter (see image). Read more... read all

Intermittent mild to moderate explosive activity has continued at Tavurvur during the past week. Ash explosions and semi-continuous ash venting produced plumes rising up to about 1 km and alternated with periods of calm steaming. Read more... read all

Explosions from the volcano have become more infrequent, but two new explosions occurred this morning at 6:54 and 10:44 am local time. The eruptions produced booms heard in the nearby villages, but due to cloud cover could not be well observed. The local volcano observatory estimated the height of the plume about 800 meters.
