Current seismic signal from White Island (GeoNet)
GNS Science volcanologists found no evidence that the new lava dome at White Island in a Aug 2012 eruption crater crater has grown or changed during the past 10 days when they became aware of it.
Spectrogram of last 30 days seismicity from White Island showing weak continuous and slowly increasing tremor (GeoNet)
Temperatures of the dome were measured to be a maximum of 187 deg C. The water in the hot lake to the south at least 71 C and upwelling strongly, and the cool lake on the north side of the dome was only 35 C.
Seismically, a constant tremor signal continues to be visible and there a slightly rising tendency during the past weeks can be noted.
