Yasur volcano (Tanna Island, Vanuatu): activity remains unchanged

On 16 March Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Wellington recorded an explosion at the volcano that generated an ash plume, which reached approx. 5,000 ft (1,500 m) altitude.

The Volcanic Alert Level remains at Level 2.
The warning bulletin states that volcanic gases could affect an area of about 600 m distance from the eruptive vents. The danger zone for life safety is limited in the Danger Zone A.
