A significant landslide occurred during 26-27 Oct at the eastern crater rim, removing a portion of the rim and completely covering one of the main vents, where a small lava pond had been observed before.

Here's the original report, reader Justin Noonan sent us from Tanna: "Lava lake/pond that was observed during the 24-26th October 2019 was missing on the 27th October, 2019. A very large landslide was visible at daylight just under viewing point 5 on the right hand side of the approach to the summit, completely closing up the main eruptive vent/lava lake."
