Background
The Miocene to Pleistocene Lucero volcanic field contains basaltic cinder cones, small shield volcanoes and tuff rings scattered over a 2000 km2 area. The latest eruptions took place only a few tens of thousand years ago (Baldridge, in Wood and Kienle, 1990).---
