Introduction
Mt. Hagen is comprised of three coalescing stratovolcanoes with NW-facing escarpments that may result from slope failure (Johnson 1987). Potassium-Argon dates of 0.42 and 0.22 million years ago have been obtained (Mackenzie and Johnson 1984).---
