Mauna Loa volcano (Hawai'i) eruption update: lava flows slowly advance towards Saddle Road

The eruption continues without significant changes. Only fissure 3 is active and feeds the lava flow advancing northwards towards the Saddle Road, from where its most advanced front was approx. 2.3 miles (44 km) away last evening. HVO reported that lava continued to effuse from a vent in the lower W wall of Kilauea's Halema`uma`u Crater during 23-29 November entering the lava lake and flowing onto the crater floor. The active part of the lake remained at a steady level all week. The Volcano Alert Level remained at Watch (the second highest level on a four-level scale) and the Aviation Color Code remained at Orange (the second highest level on a four-color scale). ...
